The First Song Dan + Shay Ever Wrote Was Put On Hold For Rascal Flatts

Dan + Shay just dropped a new song "I Should Probably Go To Bed" and they've hardly been anywhere since the coronavirus pandemic hit, but they stopped by the Bobby Bones Show to celebrate their new song release.

The duo shared that they started writing their new song "I Should Probably Go To Bed" during the last Grammy week, but they didn't finish it until quarantine. They then tracked the song at Dan's house and he produced it for them. Before tours got cancelled in 2020, Dan + Shay shared that they would always start their sets with one of their newer hits "10,000 Hours" with Justin Bieber. Then they typically ended the show with "Tequila" during the encore.

Besides being on the road, Dan + Shay got to be part of Sesame Street before the pandemic hit. They stopped by Elmo's new talk show and even performed the song "I Don't Want To Live On The Moon." The duo said that the show was a great experience for them, Elmo even recorded videos for their families.

Bobby Bones even got the duo to confess which Urban Legends about them are true and which ones are false.

  • The first song they ever wrote was put on hold for Rascal Flatts. True story.
  • Shay's voice can hit notes so high that he shatters glass. Not true, but it's possible he's cracked some glass.
  • They've showed up to fans weddings and performed. True story, mainly for their super fans.
