HBO Max and Discovery+ will officially be merging into one streaming service. It will launch in the U.S. in the summer of 2023 and other regions will follow in 2024. The company is considering a free, ad-supported version of the consolidated streaming platform. HBO Max's ad-supported tier currently costs $10 a month.

The merge announcement comes after news broke that Warner Bros. will no longer release HBO Max exclusive movie "Batgirl" and "Scoob!: Holiday Haunt." HBO Max also removed six exclusive movies for the platform.
