Something happened to Garth Brooks that hasn't happend in 10 years!

Garth Brooks is number one again. The singer’s latest single, “Ask Me How I Know,” tops the “Billboard” Country Airplay chart, giving him his first number one single in more than ten years.

"I'm so proud of the Pearl Records team for working so hard for this number one," Garth says. "Congrats to [writer] Mitch Rossell on his first cut – so happy for you, pal! And, to country radio: four decades later, thanks for still believing. I'm humbled and very grateful."

The tune is now Garth’s 19th number one. The last time he topped the Country Airplay chart was back in September of 2007 with “More Than A Memory.” The wait between number ones is the second-longest for a lead act, following Tracy Lawrence, who waited 11 years between number ones, 1996’s “Texas Tornado,” and 2007’s “Find Out Who Your Friends Are.”

  • But that’s not the only good chart news for Garth. The singer’s recently-released “The Anthology: Part 1, The First Five Years” is number one on the Top Country Albums chart, moving 57,000 equivalent album units this week. It is now Garth’s 17th number one on that chart, putting him in second place along with Willie Nelson for the most number one albums. George Strait is the record holder, with 26.
  • Elsewhere on the country chart, "Meant To Be," Florida Georgia Line's collaboration with Bebe Rexha, tops the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, FGL's sixth number one, and Bebe's first.
  • ONE MORE THING! Garth was joined on this week’s “Inside Studio G” by “Ask Me How I Know” songwriter Mitch Rossell, where they celebrated their new number one. Garth also shared some “Inside The Tour” footage of his wife Trisha Yearwood, with Garth noting that the video made him cry. Check out this week’s episode here.
