GM, UAW Reach Tentative Agreement To End Strike

DETROIT, Michigan - United Auto Workers leaders have announced they've reached a tentative agreement with General Motors to end their month-long strike.

Union officials announced the proposed deal Wednesday. Details were not made available, but the contract is expected to include a pay raise for members.

“The number one priority of the national negotiation team has been to secure a strong and fair contract that our members deserve,” said UAW Vice President Terry Dittes, Director of the UAW GM Department. Out of respect for our members, we will refrain from commenting on the details until the UAW GM leaders gather together and receive all details.

The deal will be voted on tomorrow by the UAW's GM National Council. If approved, it will go on to the national membership for approval.
